It’s hard to believe we’re coming up on the three month mark of Spun Bicycles. Time is flying by!
The shop office stays packed with repair bikes. We LOVE this. We love seeing all the bikes come in for tune ups, make-overs and sometimes a complete overhaul of new parts on old frames. Keep em’ coming, there is nothing our mechanics can’t fix.
Our Ride for Reading event went really well. We had a total of 10 cyclists, a few hundred books, 27 students and a LOT of fun. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen – WordPlay, MoBo, Queen City Bike, and all the volunteers who showed up!
Thanks to Michael Providenti for these spectacular photos too.
Every second Saturday of the month, we stay open late, until 10pm, and show some kind of bike related movie on our 60 inch plasma screen. This month we watched Quicksilver, and we had a great turn out. We usually order pizza from The Kitchen Factory and you can BYOB from our friends next door at The Listing Loon. Stay tuned for next month’s movie night on our Facebook page. Dogs are welcome too. 🙂
Project bikes, by appointment only.
This is Dominic’s favorite. If you’ve acquired a bike and you’d like to build it up with the help of Dominic, then make an appointment today or come by the shop for a consult. We’ve had a couple of customers who are really happy with their bike projects. You get to save money on labor because you are doing most of the work yourself. Dominic will help you pick out parts – all you have to do is put down a small deposit and show up once a week to work on the bike. It’s FUN and trust me, you won’t find any other bike shop in the city willing to do this.
This is one of our happiest customers so far. She recently sold her car and is committed to commuting everywhere. She upgraded from a hybrid to a steel Masi Cyclocross bike, and you can tell from the look on her face, she is totally loving it.
A friend of mine posted this to my Facebook page the other day with the comment:
” Just in case you haven’t seen, this is the kind of stuff I see posted about Spun at least once a week. Great job, you guys!”
Thank you so much for supporting our little bike shop. We will continue to strive to be different from the rest of the bike shops and make your experience at Spun Bicycles a great one.
